Italian Beans and Rice Stew

Yield: 12

3 pounds bulk hot or mild Italian sausage broken into large pieces
1 1/2 tablespoons marjoram leaves
1 tablespoon cracked black pepper
2 teaspoons ground savory

Cook until sausage is brown, about 5 to 10 minutes.

1/2 cup garlic, minced
4 bay leaves

Add. Cook for 1 minute.

3 cups canned diced tomatoes
1/3 cup fresh sage leaves
1 1/2 quarts chicken broth

Add; simmer for 10 to 15 minutes. Remove bay leaves.

2 quarts plus 1 cup cooked rice
3 cups cannellini beans, drained, rinsed

Add; heat thoroughly. Place into serving bowl.

Parmesan cheese, as needed
fresh sage leaves, as needed

Sprinkle with cheese, garnish with sage. Serve with crusty French bread.
