2 1/4 Cups Flour
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
1/4 Teaspoon Baking Soda
2 1/2 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter
1/4 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Buttermilk; * see note

Instructions
* use dry measuring cup.
Preheat oven to 450.
Sift flour, baking powder, and baking soda into a large bowl. Use a
pastry blender to cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Mix in sugar and buttermilk to make a smooth soft dough. Place dough
on lightly floured surface and knead lightly. Roll out dough until 3/4
inch
thick. Cut into 10 circle or wedges. Arrange on greased cookie sheets;
brush tops with milk. Bake 15 to 20 minutes.
