Title: Brown-Eyed Susans

Ingredients

    3/4    Cup Butter Or Margarine
    1/2    Cup Sugar
      1    Egg
      1    Teaspoon Vanilla
  1 2/3    Cups All-Purpose Flour
    1/4    Teaspoon Salt
 
  --------------------------------Filling-----------------------------------
      1    Cup Confectioner's Sugar
      3    Tablespoons Unsweetened
           -Cocoa Powder
      2    Tablespoons Butter
    1/2    Teaspoon Vanilla
  1 1/2    Tablespoons Milk
           Almonds; for garnish

Instructions

Cream butter, sugar, egg and vanilla until fluffy. Add flour and salt.
Blend well. Drop dough by teaspoonfulls onto an ungreased cookie
sheet. For more uniform cookies, dough can be chilled, then
hand-rolled into balls. Make an indentation in the center of each
cookie with thumb. Bake at 375 F for 8-10 minutes or until firm and
lightly browned.

Meanwhile, combine all filling ingredients and blend until smooth
and cream. Before removing cookies from pan, fill with a
teaspoonful of chocolate filling. Swirl with a spatula. Top with an
almond. Remove from cookie sheet and cool on a wire rack. Makes 36
cookies.
