Rating:
This recipe for the Cream Cheese Pound Cake is very good. Cream softened butter and cream cheese until fluffy. Add sugar and beat for 5 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time. Also the Cake flour should be sifted and accurately measured. I add 1 tsp. almond extract in addition to vanilla. Cake should be baked at 325 degrees in a greased and floured tube pan for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Check cake after 1 hour and 15 minutes to see if done. I have not tried the Chocolate Pound Cake version.
Rating:
This is absolutely the worst cake I have ever made in the 25 years I have been baking. It was extremely compacted and I even refused to serve it. It was like the consistency of a cake/brownie combination. It may be fixable with some baking powder or baking soda, or even more flour, but I do not recommend it at all. This is the first negative review I have ever written, so that should say something for this recipe.
