Title: Mr. Food'S Marinara Sauce- 9/26/95
Yield: 8 Servings

Ingredients

    1/4 c  olive oil
      4    garlic cloves; coarsely
           -chopped
      1 cn tomatoes; (crushed)
      1 c  water
    3/4 c  fresh parsley; chopped
      1 ts salt
      1 ts black pepper
      1 ts dried oregano
      1 ts garlic powder

Instructions

In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat; add the garlic and
saute until golden. Allow to cool slightly to avoid splattering, then add
the tomatoes and water and bring to a rapid boil. Add the remaining
ingredients, reduce the heat to medium, and cook for 10 more minutes,
stirring occasionally.

NOTES : Mr. Food says: "You can add sausage, fennel, anchovies, or fresh
onions, bell peppers, or basil along with the tomatoes. Make it
your own!"

Yield: About 4 cups (enough for 1-2 pounds of pasta)
