SACRED HEART HOSPITAL EATING PLAN

From Sacred Heart Hospital, Spokane, Ma. for overweight heart
patients; also lowers chlorestrol.

This 7-day eating plan can be used as often as you like and, if
followed correctly, will clean out your system of all impurities and
give you a feeling well being you never thought possible. After 7
days you will begin to feel lighter because you will be lighter by at
least 10 pounds and have an abundance of energy. Continue this plan
for as long as you like and feel the difference in both medical and
physical disposition.

FIRST DAY:

All fruits except bananas. For all of you melon eaters this is the
day for you. Two fruits which are low in calories are watermelon and
cantaloupe. Should you select the melon, your chances of losing 3
pounds the first day are great. AND SOUP!

DAY 2:

All vegetables. Eat until you are stuffed of raw or cooked vegetables
of your choice. Try to get green, leafy vegetables and stay away from
dry beans and corn. You may also have a large baked potato with
butter. AND SOUP!

DAY 3:

Fruit and vegetables. Same as days 1 and 2, no potato, but Soup.

DAY 4:

Eat as many as 8 bananas and drink as much as 8 glasses of skim milk,
along with the soup. Bananas are high in carbohydrates and lessen any
cravings for sweets. SOUP!

Day 5:

Beef and vegetables. You can have 10 to 20 ounces of beef and 6
tomatoes. Drink at least 8 glasses of water to wash away uric acid in
your body. SOUP!

Day 6:

Beef and vegetables. Eat until your heart is content of beef and
vegetables. SOUP!

DAY 7: Brown rice, fruit juice (unsweetened) and vegetables.
SOUP!

6 large onion 3 green peppers 1 pkg dry onion soup mix 1 large can of
tomato or V-8 juice 1 or 2 handfuls of barley 1 head of cabbage 1
large bunch of celery a little garlic if desired

Cut vegetables and cover with water in large pot. Boil 10 minutes.
Cover, lower heat and simmer until vegetables are done (a couple of
hours or more)

Eat as much as you wish and as often as you like. This soup will not
add calories, so eat all you want. The more you eat, the more you
will lose.
