Title: Hamburgers With Chili
Yield: 4 Servings
Ingredients
2 c chili con carne; leftover
1 home made or canned
1 1/2 c cheddar cheese; shredded
1/2 c red table wine
1 1/2 lb lean ground beef
1/2 ts salt
2 tb onion; grated
4 sl french bread; toasted
Instructions
In a small saucepan, combine the chili, cheese, and wine. Heat at the
edge of the grill, stirring now and then, until the cheese is melted
and blended into the chili. Meanwhile mix the beef, salt and onion.
Shape into 4 patties, each about 1-inch thick. Grill 3 to 4 inches
above hot coals until done as desired, 10 to 12 minutes for
medium-rare. Place on the slices of toasted French bread and spoon
the chili mixture over them.
