Title: Baked Ham
Yield: 10 Servings
Ingredients
7 lb ham, bone in, approx.weight
1 whole cloves
1 c brown sugar, packed
1/2 c honey
--------------------------MUSTARD SAUCE-------------------------------
1/3 c chopped onion
2 tb butter or margarine
1 tb all-purpose flour
1/4 ts salt
1 c milk
1 tb prepared mustard
1 tb lemon juice
Instructions
Using sharp knife score rind in diamond shape pattern about 1/4 inch
deep. Put ham into roaster. Cover. Bake in 350°F oven for 2 hours.
Remove from oven. Cut off rind in thin layer.
Stick whole clove into each diamond shape. Increase oven heat to
450°F.
Mix sugar with honey until smooth. Brush over ham. Bake uncovered,
brushing with glaze again after 8 minutes until well glazed, about 15
minutes. Serve with Mustard Sauce. Serves 10 Note: A ready to
serve ham is used in this recipe. Internal temperature should read
140°F when baked. Other hams should reach an internal temperature of
160°F.
(MUSTARD SAUCE):
Saute onion in butter in saucepan until soft.
Mix in flour and salt.
Add milk, mustard and lemon juice. Stir until it boils and thickens.
Serve with corned beef, ham or any other meat. Makes 1 cup.
