Title: Shrimp Marinara With Angel Hair Pasta
Yield: 4 Servings
Ingredients
9 oz refrigerated angel hair
-pasta (cape
1 tb olive or vegetable oil
1 lb uncooked medium shrimp;
-shelled & deveined
2 cloves garlic; minced
15 oz refrigerated marinara sauce
1 tb lime juice
1 tb vodka; if desired
1/8 ts crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions
1. Cook pasta to desired doneness as directed on package. Drain; cover to
keep warm.
2. Meanwhile, heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
Add shrimp and garlic; cook and stir 2-3 minutes or until shrimp just begin
to turn pink.
3. Stir in all remaining ingredients. Simmer 3-5 minutes or until mixture
is thoroughly heated. Serve over pasta.
Dietary Exchanges: (1/4 of recipe = 1 serving) 3 starch, 2 1/2 very lean
meat, 1 fat--OR--3 carbohydrate, 2 1/2 very lean meat, 1 fat.
Ingredient info: Vodka is sometimes added to sauces as a flavor carrier to
help flavor permeate the meat or fish. The vodka can be omitted from this
recipe.
