Valentine's Day Breakfast
Recipe: May we suggest
Eggs, Smoked Salmon,
Orange Juice and Champagne?

There isn't a more romantic idea than a beautiful breakfast tray for someone special! Rich, tasty and packed full of protein, then topped with caviar ... how much more spoiled could you be in your own home?! But be careful, you may find this dish difficult to share!

Ingredients
  • 2 Extra large Eggs
  • 1 Ounce Butter, plus extra for spreading
  • 1 Tablespoon Cream or Milk
  • Salt and freshly ground  Black Pepper to taste
  • 2 slices good brown Bread
  • 2 Ounces of Premium Norwegian Smoked Salmon
  • 1 Lemon for Juice and Garnish
  • Fresh Herb for Garnish
  • California Estate Osestra Premium Caviar

Instructions

Break the eggs VERY carefully, cutting off the top as if you were eating a boiled egg. Empty the raw eggs into a heavy based saucepan with 1 ounce butter, cream and pepper. Cook the egg mixture over a very low heat stirring continuously with a wooden spoon until creamy. Wash out the shells and place in your favorite egg cups discarding the tops.

Spread the bread slices with the extra butter and place the smoked salmon on the top. Sprinkle with lemon juice and season with pepper. Remove the crusts and cut each slice into four strips or 'soldiers'.

Fill the egg shells with the scrambled eggs and sprinkle the caviar and pepper on top. Arrange the soldiers around the egg cup on the plate. Garnish with Lemon slices and fresh Herb.

Recommended Beverage: Mimosa

Pre-meal preparation: You should chill both the Champagne and Orange Juice. Remember that it's just not good form to toss ice cubes into this mix. Fill a champagne flute half-way with orange juice and top it off with champagne for a fifty-fifty mix. Since you're mixing it, you really shouldn't spend top dollar on the stuff.

Body Talk

The primary reason that this delicacy is a notorious aphrodisiac is that eggs are a symbol of fertility. Also, some relate caviar to the legend of Aphrodite, the goddess of love, because it is said that she was formed from the foam of the sea.

Serving Suggestions

You'll need a stylish vector to transport the fruit of all your labor to your love's mouth. No matter how delectable your food may be, carrying it into the bedroom on an old pizza box just ain't going to cut it so be sure to acquire a decent tray. Ideally, you'll be able to find one with legs that fold down to create a little table over the diner's lap.

On that tray, you really need only one extraneous accoutrement: a bud vase. Lost you? A bud vase is a small vase designed to hold only a single flower - we recommend a rose. Again, buy the rose in advance unless you happen to have some lying about in your kitchen, then store it in your fridge with the stem in water. The cold will prevent the rose from opening up, and the aesthetic of a tight bud is much preferred by those in the know.

Show up in the bedroom with this package and we guarantee you tremendous success. . . in whatever it is you're trying to do. Just don't take two hours to pull it off.
